Key CREHUD activities

Welcome to the International Centre for Research and  Human Development (CREHUD for short), which offers deep, research-driven, and highly innovative training as follows.

Services to HEIs, organisations, countries, continents and the world

  1. organising world-class training events and courses for lecturers and students on globally competitive knowledge and skills
  2. supporting HEIs in Africa and developing countries on HEI-industry-government partnerships with leading organisations
  3. innovative and entrepreneurial business models, especially as they digitally internationalise their offerings
  4. resolving key challenges in higher education intimately explored in our annual International Higher Education Summits for senior management of HEIs, see below
  5. online/f2f foundation, intermediate, and advanced entrepreneurial education courses
  6. model-based research and enterprise development
  7. advanced professional training
  8. building institutions and platforms that reinforce excellent standards in higher education
  9. online African Higher Education Academy X, also called Afrihero X, in Afrihero, UK, www.afrihero.org.uk, to promote all-round excellence in higher education benchmarked on, but profoundly exceeding the UK Higher Education Academy, now called Advance HE
  10. similar outfits aimed at nutruring the secondary and pre-university feeder base
  11. centres for research and enterprise development within HEIs
  12. pedagogical advice and training using best-in-class integrated research, teaching, and learning strategies
  13. excellent quality assurance, robust, strategic academic planning, and integrated business modelling
  14. wider human development activities across academia, industry, and government settings
  15. capacitating indviduals, teams, staff and senior management of organisations, with deep skills for mastery, career excellence, competitiveness, innovation and creativity, at  local, state, national, regional, continental, and global levels
  16. Organising ‘rural, corporte and industry stints’ to expose academics and professionals to vital ‘ground realities’ and ‘edge of the system’ experiences in other places, which will prepare them better to make a difference in their own parts of the world.

Services to individuals, students, academics and professionals (any repetitions intentional)

  1. bridging the gap between theory and practice for different levels of academics and professionals (low, middle and high-level technocrats), to continually enhance their skills and competences
  2. annual summits and short courses on skills for students, graduates and start-ups, cf. SSGS Academy in www.afrihero.org.uk and more fully our African and Developing Countries’ Summer Skills Summits below, see also News & Events above
  3. managing careers, global crisis, work-related stress, depression, emotional, physical, and financial well-being
  4. top-quality human development in different areas of endeavour vital to local, national, continental, and global socio-economic development
  5. training versatile modern academics, post graduate students, and professionals, on the 63 descriptors of the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (vitae.ac.uk/rdf), which is currently compulsory for all PhD students in the UK
  6. regular capacity building through research, conferences, seminars, workshops, technical assistance, individualized or group consultancy services
  7. using ideas in the Schools of Innovation and Creativity and 7E Education and Enterprise Development at ICRED, www.icred7e.com, to mainstream curriculum innovations in research, teaching, learning, assessments, consulting, and community services, and embed the innovations in current and future degree programmes in ICREHUD’s client HEIs
  8. diffusing the curriculum innovations across higher educational institutions, through specialist train-the-trainer workshops for academics, nationally, continentally, and globally, to assist their institutions in designing innovative future degree programmes (for example, world-beating BSc, MSc, MBA, and PhD)
  9. generating multi-stakeholder funding for the training programmes — across the Triple Helix of academia, industry and government — in forms of, but not limited to:
  10. writing ambitious research and project grants
  11. research, consultancy, and staff development for client organisations
  12. developing innovative combined honours degrees (for example in mathematics, statistics, computing, and economics), to be offered by DU and partner universities;
  13. spinning off jointly-owned digital firms from ongoing research in the ICREHUD, DU and AFRIHERO-ICRED, as appropriate
  14. ongoing certified professional training (certificates, diplomas, and chartered qualifications), via short-courses, international summer schools, workshops and conferences, for DU and external staff and students
  15. convening panels of world-leading disciplinary and professional experts to work with ICREHUD and DU as visiting professors, research supervisors, and project leads, as and when needed, also as members of the International Advisory Board and College of Collaborating Experts of the centre
  16. business model and services innovation

  18. training events, including international schools, symposia, conferences, seminars, workshops (ISSCWs)

  22. Organising ‘rural, corporte and industry stints’ to expose academics and professionals to vital ‘ground realities’ and ‘edge of the system’ experiences in other places, which will prepare them better to make a difference in their own parts of the world.

Trawling the publications of existing reseearch, enterprise development (RED) and human capital development (HUCAD) organisations and summits relatd to these topics, and implementing related ideas in ICREHUD. For example, the CEO Panel at Singapore’s Human Capital Development Summit, the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Advisory Council on New Models of Leadership, and the Max Planck Institute fo Huma Development
  24. Continually convening related RED international conferences, workshops, and summits, in collaboration with AfriWorld Higher Education & Research Observatory, UK, www.afrihero.org.uk and www.oseluxworldhero3e.com, as in the News & Events section of this website
  25. Emerging academic development activities which are demanded by ICREHUD and DU partners and clients.

In partnerships with:

a) the Dominican University, Ibadan (DUI), Nigeria, a university anchored on centuries of avant-garde Catholic education as an offshoot of the globally renowned Dominican Institute, with peerless educational credentials as the pioneer Order of Preachers in the world, and b) one of the most innovative advanced research and enterprise development centres in the world, the International Centre for Research and Enterprise Development (ICRED), UK, also known as Open Research  Institute UK, see www.icred7e.com or its password-protected base advanced researcg engine, www.oseluxworldhero3e.com

The DUI and ICRED  established the CREHUD to globally innovate the entire firmament of tertiary education – research, teaching, learning, assessments, consulting, and community services, with a special focus on Nigeria, Africa, and developing countries of the Global South. And to do so by combining frameworks and best practices at the cutting-edge of research, teaching, learning and training, in ways not yet seen before in the world.

Key CREHUD activities continued

1. Mastery of and continual innovations in the four main scholarships of (higher) education (DIAT), namely: Discovery (or Research) – Fundamental, Applied, Translational, and Transnational research; Integration of Knowledge across disciplines and settings; Application of knowledge in diverse areas of human development, and Teaching.

Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Development, and Employability Initiatives

2. Whilst leading innovation wavefronts in advanced research and human development, the CREHUD mainstreams Founation, Intermediate, and Advanced entrepreneurial development. It therefore develops world-leading (online) short courses, training events, and multi-channel public understanding of entrepreneurship, enterprise development, and employability (EEDE), through, for example:

  • international research in applied EEDE up to PhD levels, in collaboration with the the Afri-World Higher Education & Research Observatory, UK, www.afrihero.org.uk, www.oseluxworldhero3e.com; see also the ICRED, www.icred7e.com
  • in-course applied EEDE modules across all semesters and years in BSc and BTech degrees at the DUI and partner universities in Africa and developing countries
  • online and face-to-face EEDE short  courses at certificate and diploma levels
  • community services surveys and supporting training of artisans and vocational workers in the entrepreneurial mindset
  • EEDE and higher education newsletters
  • Triple Helix (academia, industry, and government) advisory notes, towards creating entrepreneurial universities in Africa and developing countries
  • related CREHUD and comparative international professional reports
  • world-class academic papers in top ICRED, globally leading, and high-impact journals
  • pervasive diffusion of innovations and public understanding of EEDE mindsets, principles, and case studies, by way of blogs, vlogs, YouTube lectures, social media, and digital marketing, and
  • underpinning research in the School of 7E Research at the ICRED, UK, www.icred7e.com and www.oseluxworldhero3e.com.
