Curriculum Innovations
We have taken curriculum innovations to a completely different level than is available elsewhere in the world, by embedding entrepreneurial development, enterprise development (real creation of research-informed social or for-profit businesses with scale), professional development, research and consultancy skills within the core curricula of universities. This is exemplified by a range of new interdisciplinary and international mathematical sciences courses which the CEPRED has developed. Some of the courses will shortly be trialled at the Dominican University, Ibadan, Nigeria. The courses exhibit the fullest span of innovations in research, teaching, learning, assessments, consulting, and community services available within a university. This is primarily because only in the CEPRED, ICRED and DUI would you find curriculum design and delivery that blend good practices from four globally leading signature pedagogies, namely
- ICRED’s Corporate-Academic Research and Enterprise Development (CARED) philosophy, which translates profoundly deep theoretical and technical education to innovative products and services in any discipline;
- 7E education and enterprise development skills;
- Deliberate Practice (DP) methodology used in training elite sports personalities, as explored in Anders Ericsson & Robert Pool (2016) Peak: How all of us can achieve extraordinary things. Vintage; and
- Rose & Nicholl (1997)’s Accelerated Learning Principles for the 21st Century: The Six-Step Process to Unlock Your M*A*S*T*E*R Mind, which explains how to engage all the eight multiple intelligences of humans in teaching and learning, including learning how to learn.
